GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES BOOK DRIVE: Students from Global Perspectives 11 are collecting children and parenting books to donate to the YMCA Young Moms program. Donations will be collected in the main foyer until the end of May. Any book donation is greatly appreciated!

CAMP IGNITE – SUMMER 2021 - Camp Ignite is a Youth Fire Fighter Mentorship Program for grade 11 & 12 girls, ages 16-18 that educates and inspires young women about careers in firefighting. This camp offers girls an introduction to the world of firefighting as well as learning about fitness, nutrition, health and teamwork. The plan this year is to run a 2-day camp (no overnight) on August 14 & 15; one day in Vancouver and one day in North Vancouver.  Saanich Fire is looking to sponsor one grade 11 or 12 girl to attend. Application deadline is June 1. SAANICH YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMER PLACEMENT PROGRAM - Are you interested in spending your summer working with kids? Do you want to be a leader in your community and work with diverse individuals?  This summer, Saanich is offering a Mentored Placement Program for youth 14–17 years old. Participants in this program will have the chance to work in an outdoor camp setting with kids and a personal staff mentor. KIDS CLUB SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - If you are interested in working with children in an outdoor summer day camp setting with staff mentors, there are a few programs that may interest you! GRAD 2021

GRADS - It is time to book your appointment to be filmed crossing the bridge as part of this year's virtual graduation ceremony. Filming will take place on Saturday June 12th from 10am-6pm. A REMINDER TO GRADE 12's TO CHECK THE GRAD ELIGIBILITY LIST that is posted on the Counselling Office window. If your name isn't there, is it because you are one of the 50 students who have outstanding fees to pay? Or one of the 26 students who have overdue books? Or one of the 10 students who need to book an appointment with Mr. Redlin?  See Ms. Batham in the main office for more information.

MAGIC WAND PROJECT - Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. PARENT COMMITTEE for GRAD 2021 BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, May 22nd from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  This is the last bottle drive for this grad class of 2021, as we will be passing this onto the parents and grads of 2022 in June. We need as many volunteers as possible as we have been gathering recycling. Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the yearend grad event parents are helping with. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account.
