GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Grilled Ham Cheese Artichoke & Pepper Panini, Fish Tacos with Cilantro Lime Aioli, Chef Salad, Mac & Cheese, Chicken Souvlaki on Nann Bread with Rice & Tzatziki or Cream of Mushroom Soup with a biscuit.   Tomorrow is the last day of Cafeteria service, be sure to thank the staff in the cafeteria for their AWESOME SERVICE this past year!   Pizza sale is happening on Wednesday & Thursday ... $2.50 a slice!  

Today is NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY. We are celebrating the Heritage, Diverse Cultures and Outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit & Metis Peoples. As we wanted to recognize & celebrate this day as a school community, our Indigenous Leadership class has created a video that features the voices and stories of Indigenous students who are a part of the Stelly's Community. SCIENCE 9 APPLE TREES:  Students who grafted apple trees in Science 9 this year should see Mr. Siebert today at lunch. If your graft was successful, you have the option of taking your tree home, or donating it to the school. If you would like to take your apple tree home, please see Siebert at lunch today.

MARINE BIOLOGY 11 for NEXT YEAR: Students that have enrolled in Marine Biology 11 for next school year should attend a brief meeting at lunchtime tomorrow (Tuesday). Find out details about the class, and have all your questions answered. See you then! 11:30 sharp, room 164 on Tuesday.

YEARBOOKS: There is still time to order a yearbook. $60.00 payment can be made to Mrs. Youell in the Accounting office.  There are only 40 yearbooks left. If you are not sure if you have already ordered one, she can let you know that too!

SCHOOL BUS REGISTRATION FOR 2021-2022 - REMINDER: If you ride the school bus, have you registered for next year yet?  School bus registration for next school year is now open until June 30th.  To register, you will need your Student #.  Registration link is on the Saanich School District website:  https://www.sd63.bc.ca/programs-and-services/transportation

MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

CAREER CENTRE

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN EXPLORING THE TRADES INDUSTRY?  Multi-Industry Trades Exploration & Employment (Mi-TEE) Trade Sampling Program:  CONSTRUCTION     This program is fully-funded for eligible participants and runs from June 23 - September 3, 2021.  12 weeks of hands on training, safety training, upgrading and job readiness.  Camosun College, Interurban Campus, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Please visit the Saanich Career Education website at https://careered.sd63.bc.ca/ under the Training, Workshops and Camps Tab for more information and to register.

TEAC 105 - EXPLORATIONS IN TECHNOLOGY - Calling All Technology & Engineering Enthusiasts…  TEAC is a Dual Credit course that provides an introduction to careers and basic skills in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Civil Engineering and Computer Science.  This 4-credit course, Friday nights from 3:00- 6:00 at the Camosun Interurban Campus 3 hours per week, for 13 weeks.  For more information see the Saanich Career Education website at https://careered.sd63.bc.ca/  ... under the Training, Workshops and Camps tab. To apply see the Career Centre!

SOAR - ARE YOU AN ENTREPRENEUR IN THE MAKING?  The SOAR Summer Innovation Camp is an interactive virtual learning program designed to immerse students in Grades 7-12 in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation through engaging online project-based learning challenges.  2021 Camp Dates - Cost $400.  Session 1: July 5th-30th 2021     Session 2: August 3rd-27th 2021  Cohort A: 9:00 - 11:30 AM ET. Tripleshot CrossFondo  which is a 45+ ride of backcountry trails in Victoria BC. GRAD 2021

PARENT COMMITTEE for GRAD 2022 BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, June 26th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.   Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the yearend grad 2022 event parents are helping with. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account.
