GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of an Avocado Bacon Lettuce tomato & cheese wrap, Cajun Chicken Caesar Salad, Roast beef dip with Onions & Mozza on Panini, Spanakopita with Tzatziki, Meat Ravioli& sun-dried tomato sauce, spicy chicken & Peanut sauce on rice noodles & Pizza (meat lovers, Hawaiian, cheese or Veggie).  Come on down and check it out!

STUDENT PARKING: Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot... you need to be registered. Parking forms are available in the Main Office.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.

MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT is this THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2021 (Early Dismissal at 2:05pm) Doors are open at 5:30pm and our evening program starts at 6pm. You will need your child's schedule so you may go through and meet their teachers!

SPIRIT WEEK IS happening this Week.  Today is Purple Day.  Tomorrow is Tacky Tropical Day and Friday is Western Day!

CAREER CENTRE

POST SECONDARY BC (PSBC) is a consortium of primarily public post-secondary institutions in BC, who provide information you need to help make the best education decisions.  Virtual Fairs for students & parents:

-       Seven dates, open to everyone across the province, with each fair open for 10 hours.

-       Presentations (live or pre-recorded) up to six times daily (# will vary by institution)

-       Live text & video chat available with institutional representatives

-       Multiple “door prizes” will be awarded to student participants after each event

CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES EVENT (CUE) is a forum designed to highlight Canada’s universities to BC’s secondary school students and families. CUE brings together over 50 of Canada’s finest post-secondary institutions and showcases them over two weeks in September & October. SKILLS CANADA BC ONLINE VIDEO PRODUCTION CHALLENGE #2 - Are you passionate about Skilled Trades and Technology? The application into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Camosun College is now open and will remain open until December 15th. BC/Yukon high school students are eligible to apply in their Grade 12 year. GPA will be initially calculated on interim grades to determine provisional qualification. Self-reporting of interim grades for current BC/Yukon high school students due Feb 28, 2022. 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Tripleshot CrossFondo  which is a 45+ ride of backcountry trails in Victoria BC. This event is a fundraiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club Youth Racing Team, and also raises money to support the South Vancouver Island Nature Trail Society and the South Island Mountain Bike Society. Check-out the website @ www.tripleshotcrossfondo.ca  Volunteers Needed, Sunday, October 17, 2021.   Nutrition station - Trails Marshalls\Marker - Start\Finish.  If you’d like to volunteer on the event day, please email tscrossfondo@gmail.com

GRAD 2022

PARENT COMMITTEE for GRAD 2022 BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, September 25th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.   Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the yearend grad 2022 event parents are helping with. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. Thank You for your continued support!!

ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS are asked to attend a Lunch on Thursday, Sept 23 in the Dining Room.  Lunch will be provided.  See you all there! 

PARENTS/COMMUNITY

2021 GRAD DIPLOMA : Parents:  if you have an older child who graduated in June 2021, their Dogwood Graduation Diplomas are available in the office for pickup.  Younger siblings are welcome to pick them up.
