National Day for Truth & Reconciliation is tomorrow - THURSDAY Sept 30 - This will be the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is to honour the lost children & survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Stelly’s will be closed for the Stat holiday on Thursday. At Stelly’s we will honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools by wearing orange shirts TODAY!
SCHOLARSHIP MEETING is happening today at 11:30am in the Learning Commons at Lunchtime. It will be a delayed start because of the Orange Shirt day activities. Any questions see Mrs. Laws in the main office!

In these online events, we'll answer your questions about admission requirements, scholarships and upcoming application deadlines, and offer advice on helping your children successfully transition to life in university. ALERT FIRST AID with CPR” C” & AED - NEW FORMAT: Blended online and in class. Online: emailed to you two weeks prior to class date and on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:30 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre 10030 Resthaven Drive. Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted. CRC Emergency First-Aid with CPR "C" Blended Learning - This fun and interactive 4 hour online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority, life threatening emergencies. The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C. FOODSAFE LEVEL 1 - Saturday, November 13th, 2021 - 8:30 am to 4:00 pm @ SHOAL Centre 10030 Resthaven Drive Cost is $50.00 (Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted). Food safe Level 1 - This 8-hour food handling, sanitation and work safety course is designed for front line food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers and deli workers. The course covers important food safety and worker safety information including foodborne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing. POST SECONDARY BC (PSBC) is a consortium of primarily public post-secondary institutions in BC, who provide information you need to help make the best education decisions.
Virtual Fairs for students & parents:

The application into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Camosun College is now open and will remain open until December 15th. BC/Yukon high school students are eligible to apply in their Grade 12 year. GPA will be initially calculated on interim grades to determine provisional qualification. Self-reporting of interim grades for current BC/Yukon high school students due Feb 28, 2022.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Tripleshot CrossFondo which is a 45+ ride of backcountry trails in Victoria BC. This event is a fundraiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club Youth Racing Team, and also raises money to support the South Vancouver Island Nature Trail Society and the South Island Mountain Bike Society. Whale Watching Trip - Saanich International Student Program - Registration forms are now available in the International Office for International Students interested in going on a Whale Watching Day Trip scheduled for Friday, October 15. The cost is $110.00 for a three-hour trip with Prince of Whales- - Whale and Marine Wildlife Adventures in Victoria. Deadline to apply is Wednesday, Oct 6 and registration will be on a first come first serve basis. Please see Diane in the International Office for forms and information on payment.
