GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Roast Beef Dip with Au Jus, Santé Fe Chicken salad in a taco bowl, BBQ Cheddar Beef Burger, Quinoa Veggie Filo, Beef Ravioli Pesto Baked Pasta or a Thai Coconut Curry Chicken on Rice.   Come on Down and check it out!

A HUGE Congratulations to the Stelly's Cross Country Team for their strong runs in the mud and rain at the Island Championships at Beaver Lake yesterday.  Our Junior Girls Team placed 7th overall-well done Jayden Hay, Tessa Hunter-Siebert, Lisa Koffman and Lily MacGregor! Congratulations to Nikol Miasik who ran a great race as well! Tessa ran at a blazing pace, placing 2nd in the junior girl’s race!  Patrick Farkas also had a strong race placing 16th among the senior boys and Liliane Vonach placed 26th for the senior girls.  Patrick, Liliane and Tessa have all qualified for the BC championships in Vancouver in a few weeks.  Go Stingers!!!!  

WORK EXPERIENCE 12A or 12B - If you are enrolled in work experience 12A or 12B and have not picked up your handbook, could you, please come to the Career Centre ASAP!!

The 1st University of Waterloo Math Contests are only a few weeks away!  Any Gr 9 to 12's interested in writing the November contests need to register with Mrs. Hilton in room 37 before the end of the day Monday October 25th.  Everyone welcome!

SCHOOL BUS CARDS - If you have registered to ride the school bus, bus cards have arrived.  They will be handed out to students TODAY from the main office at lunch time.  The bus drivers will be expecting students to show their bus cards this week. 

INDIGENOUS STUDENT LEADERSHIP is in room 33 at lunch today.  Please be on time as we have a guest speaker. 

STUDENT PHOTO PACKAGES & ID CARDS - If you missed picking up your student I.D. card and photo package last week, they can be picked up in the main office. 

GOOGLE ACCOUNT DISABLED??? - If you find your google account is disabled, the only fix is to do the approval on the school's website main page on one of the windows machines. It will take 15 mins after that for it to reactivate.

PHOTO RETAKES are happening next TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26th in the dining room.  -  If you missed getting your school photo taken, Photo Retake Day is TUESDAY morning, Oct 26th. Purchasing photos is optional, but all students in all grades need to have school photos taken for school identification purposes (grade 12’s too - even if you are having grad photos taken). If you want to replace the September photo, students must return their full photo package + Student ID card to the photographer on Photo Retake Day.

MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156.

BC YOUTH PARLIAMENT SESSION - December 27-31, 2021 (Victoria, BC) Every year, 97 youth aged 16 to 21 from across the province travel to the British Columbia Parliament Buildings in Victoria for a five-day simulation of the Westminster Parliamentary System, legislating bills that govern the organization’s community service projects for the remainder of the year, hearing from a large number of speakers from around the community, and engaging in a wide variety of fun social activities.  Applications for the 93rd BC Youth Parliament (BCYP) are now open. The application deadline is October 26, 2021. ALERT FIRST AID with CPR” C” & AED - NEW FORMAT: Blended online and in class.  Online: emailed to you two weeks prior to class date and on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:30 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre 10030 Resthaven Drive.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  CRC Emergency First-Aid with CPR "C" Blended Learning - This fun and interactive 4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority, life threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. GRAD 2022

IT IS GRAD QUOTE TIME! A form is available on the Grad Google Classroom and needs to be filled out. The deadline is DECEMBER 17th, 2021.  Your write up will appear beside your photo in the yearbook, other photos may appear in the yearbook.   This year I have asked for some videos that may be used later in the year for grad related activities.  If you need help filling this out please come and find Mr. Hart.  Do it this weekend so you do not need to worry as the deadline approaches. The form will be closed on December 18th and the page will be made, do not miss this deadline.

GRAD PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST is happening at Lunch next Wednesday, October 27th in the outdoor amphitheater. Sign up your team of 3-4 grads on the Google form on the grad Instagram page.

GRAD 2022 CLOTHING ORDER - Fall GRAD clothing online ordering is open now until November 10. Clothing will arrive in early December.  Final clothing order will take place in the spring.
