STELLY'S SENIOR MUSICAL THEATRE presents DISNEY'S "NEWSIES" starting tonight. Tickets now on sale. The show runs from February 1st thru 5th, 2022 at 7pm, with an additional performance at 1pm on Saturday, February 5th. Tickets are $20.00 each and are available from Ms. Bartlett or at the office. Seating is limited and masks are required for this event.
WATERLOO MATH CONTESTS - The February Waterloo Math contests are coming up! Any interested Grade 9, 10 or 11 students please sign up with Mrs. Hilton in Room 37 by Friday Feb 4th. Contests are free for students!
STELLY's CREATIVE WRITING CLUB - Are you interested in joining the Stelly's Creative Writing Club? Join us for a meeting on Thursday at lunch in Room 9. Please see Blake in the LC for questions!
WANTED STELLY'S BREAKFAST CLUB ORGANIZER FOR SEPTEMBER 2022: The Stelly’s Breakfast Club is looking for a new organizer starting in September of 2022. My last child is graduating this June so I am stepping out of this responsibility. I am certainly happy to help out in the transition period to bring you up to speed. You can set it up all from your home computer organizing volunteers to run it, or you can come into the school and help out as well, depending on your time and availability. The club provides bagels for $0.25 and has been deemed an essential service for the school, as food for kids in the morning is so important. Please let me know if this is an area you would like to help the Stelly’s community out with, it would be appreciated. Darcy Winkel at dmwinkel@shaw.ca .
ABSENCES & ILLNESS - A reminder that parents/guardians notify the school office every day that a student will be absent from school. PLEASE indicate if the reason for absence is for illness; the Ministry of Education requires that schools specifically track how many student absences are due to illness. The Attendance Line is easy to find under the Quick Links on the Stelly's web page which gives the option of reporting absences by email: stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or by phone message: 250-544-0300. Please perform BC’s K-12 daily health check before arriving at school.
HOMEWORK HELP: Before School Homework help is at 7:15am in Room 46 and After School Homework Help is in the Learning Commons 4 days a week Monday thru Thursday until 4:00 pm for Math and Science. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for support with English and Social Studies.

UBC FACULTY OF MEDICINE - If you are interested in attending the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine virtual session about a possible future career in medicine, via their Medical Student Outreach Ambassador Program. Mini Med School Vancouver Island - Are you a grade 10-12 student with a passion for science and health research? Join BC Children's Hospital Research Institute for a day of presentations and hands-on activities that explore the newest discoveries and innovations in health research. Friday, April 29th, 2022, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm AT THE Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina at 146 Kingston Street. You require a teacher to sponsor the registration. The Registration form will be posted on Monday, March 7 to Sunday, March 13, 2022. Proof of vaccination is required to attend. CAMCOR DIVING SERVICES is a local commercial dive company that has been operating on Vancouver Island for over 27 years. They are interested in giving young locals for whom Vancouver Island is home, a career opportunity. We are looking to hire dive tenders to start learning the ropes of the commercial diving world, get their feet wet in the industry, and then Camcor will pay to put them through commercial dive school after 8 months to a year of employment.
