TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Artisan Pizza (Hawaiian, Cheese & Meat-Lovers), Chicken Caesar Wrap, Ham & Cheese Panini, Mandarin Chicken Salad with Sesame Dressing, Baked Chicken & Broccoli Cheese, Beef Ravioli with Red Pepper Pesto Sauce or Beet Soup with Fresh Creme & a Biscuit.  Come on Down and check it out! 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Senior Band, Junior Band and the Jazz Band for their AMAZING performance last night! You ROCKED IT STINGERS! Well Done!

Interested in reconciliation? Support our Indigenous community members and take action today at lunch in Room 14 by helping fundraise for the Lil' Red Dress Project! We will be beading and using scissors to make felted red dresses. No experience necessary - we will teach you! We welcome all students so please come to Room 14 and help out.

THE SOCIAL JUSTICE CLUB invites Stelly's students and staff to celebrate Earth Day, on Friday, April 22, by participating in a scavenger hunt and watching a movie in the Learning Commons in lunchtime and block 3.  The movie is entitled "The Magnitude of All Things".  It runs for 85 minutes with a brief discussion to follow.  If you are interested in attending the movie, please register with Ms. Washington in room 66 or with Mrs. Wallace Rm 30. The scavenger hunt, with Earth Day themed prizes, will take place throughout the day.

STELLY'S FILL THE HIVE FOOD DRIVE is taking place TODAY from 4-8pm. Student volunteers are needed to collect donations from homes in our community.  Complete the form on the Google Classroom to sign up!  See Mr. Braun, Mr. Hart, Mr. McDonald or Mrs. Dildy if you have any questions.

SCHOOL BUS REGISTRATION for 2022-2023 - Registration is now open for students to ride the school bus for the next 2022-2023 school year.  Students must be registered with SD63 Transportation Department and hold a current year bus pass in order to ride on the bus.  Registration is on-line, and you will need the following information when registering: Student Name, School, Grade, Student Number. Registration is on the SD#63 website. Registration will close June 15, 2022.

Any students wishing to REWRITE their Literacy 10, Numeracy 10 or Literacy 12 exams please see Mr. Braun in the office ASAP. We will be rewriting at the end of April.

IS YOUR CHILD GRADUATING IN 2023? We are looking for a grad 2023 parent to take over the monthly bottle drop offs?  It has become a huge fundraiser, so far, we have raised over $10,000 in bottles!  We have April and May drop offs, and then June we pass it over to the 2023 crew. STUDENT PARKING: Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot... you need to be registered. Parking forms are available in the Main Office.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.

HOMEWORK HELP: Before School Homework help is at 7:15am in Room 46 and After School Homework Help is in the Learning Commons 4 days a week Monday thru Thursday until 4:00 pm for Math and Science. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for support with English and Social Studies.

CLUBS

STELLY'S PADDLING CLUB: If you're interested in kayaking or paddle boarding, come to a meeting on Friday at lunch in Rm 20 to learn more about Stelly's Paddling Club. See you there!

CANADIAN COAST GUARD DAYS - Friday, June 10th, Victoria Base (25 Huron St.)  Have you ever considered a career with the Coast Guard?  Check out several booths and demonstrations highlighting who we are and the type of work we do from helicopter operations, vessel tour, search and rescue, aids to navigation, and more…  If interested see Mr. Bailey in Room #27.

TRADES EXPLORATION (TEx Program) - TEx Program, in Semester 2 next year at Claremont Secondary, it can help you discover the trade that suits you and your talents best, and, lead into post secondary trades training at Camosun College. Tex combines school-based instruction with actual workplace experience in Carpentry, Plumbing, Welding and Electrical, giving you a comprehensive overview of each of these trade areas.  Learn about each trade, fast track your future and earn up to 8 credits toward grad for completing 2 courses!  See Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

ELK LAKE FARM is looking for Farm/garden help! If you are interested in being outside and getting exercise, you may be a good candidate for this local job. A good learning experience on an organic fruit farm.  Right now, the employer is looking for someone to help with weeding, shoveling, mowing grass; and picking blackberries in July, starting at $16.00 hour. Scheduling is flexible, starting at as little as 3 hours per week, working up to more hours and potential summer work. The farm is located on Old West Saanich Rd. on the other side of Elk Lake. Contact: Cindy (250) 479-7773.

GRAD 2022

REMINDER to Grads ... Please hand in your grad forms to the main office!

INFORMATION FOR GRAD 2022 PARENTS/CAREGIVERS:  We will be having a virtual grad parent/caregiver meeting on April 28th at 7:15pm to relay important information about graduation events that we have already shared with our grads.  This is directly following Parent-Teacher Interviews and therefore, any parents/caregivers unable to get home for this virtual meeting can join us in the Learning Commons.  

HELLO LOVELY GRADS!!  Who needs to learn how-to walk-in heels? I'm sure many of you! Anyone is welcome to attend the "heels" lesson on Tuesday, May 10th (there will be another date too) at lunch...location TBA.

GRAD SCHOLARSHIP meeting is happening TODAY at lunch in the Learning Commons. See Mrs. Laws if you have any questions!

MAGIC WAND PROJECT:  Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. GRAD 2022 BOTTLE DRIVE is happening this Saturday, April 23rd from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.   Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the year end grad 2022 event parents are helping with. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account.
