On Friday, April 23 a large group of Stelly’s students celebrated Earth Day with a fun-filled event outside in the amphitheater. The event was kicked off by an amazing musical performance by the Shenanigans (Ethan Henthorn and Sandy Hughes). With the crowd a buzz, Elizabeth May, the leader of the Green Party of Canada, proceeded to give an inspirational speech about the history of Earth Day and the ability to affect positive change. The event culminated with a wonderful Eco-fashion show that saw some of Stelly’s finest strutting their stuff on the runway to Michael Jackson’s Beat It. Special thanks goes out to the Green Team, Student Council, Sustainable Development students, Mr. McDonald, and our creative musicians for making the event such a success.
