MAC Expo
On a cold and snowy Wednesday, Stellys students found out what it took to cut hair, run a welding bead, build a foundation wall and more at the MAC Expo. MAC stands for mentorship, apprenticeship and careers; and this was shown by 30 recent Stellys and SD 63 grads who have successfully moved into well paying and rewarding trade careers.

We had hairdressers from Salon J cutting hair, Home Care Assistants showing how to properly lift patients or how to operate a wheel chair, cooks peeling carrots, meat cutters tying up flank steaks, electricians getting a shock out of life, cabinetmakers making fine cuts and lots of sawdust, carpenters building elaborate dog houses, plumbers threading their day away, heavy duty mechanics doing taste tests on fluids, sheet metal workers bending in amazing ways, welders striking an arc and automotive technicians revving up excitement.
