At the age of 17 Annie has already accomplished much more than most could hope for in a lifetime. As a Junior Team member has competed and placed at several Provincial and National competitions. However, this year she has moved up to the Pro 1-2 division and has already placed 2nd at the Kona Russ Hays Time Trial (1st place as a Junior) and 1st place at the 2011 Tour of Walla Walla Time Trial. Her future goals are to win the 2011 Junior World Championships time trial in Copenhagen, Denmark, and compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As Mr. Heywood pointed out during the presentation at the banquet, what has impressed him about Annie, besides the fact that she can destroy him in a race, is that she is also an outstanding student. Annie will be attending UVic in the Fall. Congratulations Annie and best of luck in your future competitions!
