Vacation Budget Assignment



Overview:


By yourself or with a partner, plan a vacation to any place you want and for any length of time you desire within the guidelines given below. The Vacation must be outside of Canada. Each person will be required to complete their own Budget (Spreadsheet), Itinerary (Document) and Graph (Spreadsheet)

Guidelines:


The following information should appear at the beginning of the "Itinerary Section".

Time: minimum of 7 days to a maximum of 6 months.
Money Saved: $5000-$10000 Canadian Dollars per person.
Destination(s): Must be a country other than Canada. Please provide a brief description of the country you chose and an explanation as to why you chose to go there.
Mode of Transportation: all forms allowed.

Note: you are not allowed to have a cruise or an all inclusive resort make up you entire vacation.

Components:


  1. Itinerary - A daily description of what you are planning to do, if you are traveling for a few months please provide a weekly description instead. To be completed using a table in an Libre Office Document.
  2. Budget - A realistic summary of all of the costs you will ensure during your vacation. Please provide subtotals for different categories such as Transportation, Food, Entertainment, and Other costs (ex. Visas, Passport, shots. Your spreadsheet should include a column for the cost in Canadian dollars, the cost in the currency of the country you are traveling in and the percent of your entire budget.
  3. Graph - Using Libre Office Spreadsheet you will create chart to illustrate the amount of money you are spending in each of your categories.

Note: The subtotals, totals, currency conversions, and percent calculations must be done using formulas in Open Office Spreadsheet.
