GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Stellys, it’s time! COMPOSTING IS BACK! There are now bins that can be found around the school and they want to be used. A quick reminder before we all start composting again though is that everyone needs to remember to CLICK SHUT the bins. If they aren’t clipped closed, little unwanted critters will start to appear. As well, here’s a few items that you should start putting in the compost: Fruit scraps, veggie scraps, gum, and contaminated paper(it is true, even paper plates and bowls from the cafeteria go in the compost!) So Stelly's Lets Make a difference ...Let's Get out and go compost!
TEXTBOOKS: REMINDER to RETURN YOUR TEXTBOOKS ASAP! 483 Textbooks are still outstanding from last semester!
NEW STUDENTS for SEMESTER 2: If you are new to Stelly's for semester 2, please fill out a Google Student Account formwhich are available in the office.
DODGEBALL PLAYOFFS are resuming today at lunch! Schedule is posted on gym door....all teams must be ready to play today!

SCIENCE AT SEA OPPORTUNITY FOR GIRLS - SATURDAY, FEB 3rd
FREE hands-on experience event for girls (14+) and women!!! Operation: This Is You! SAR & Science at Sea on SATURDAY Feb 3 in Sidney, BC - Come experience Canadian Coast Guard. AWESOME!!! Hands-on activities will include elements from Coast Guard Search & Rescue, Canadian Hydrographic Service, Marine Communications & Traffic Services, Electronics, Marine Engineering, Fisheries and Oceans Canada Science and a tour of CCGS Tanu. A Women in Trades and Technology Exploration Day is taking place at Camosun College on Wednesday, February 21st, from 9:30-2:00. Check out important and well paying careers in the following:
Trades - Electrical, Auto Service, Sheet Metal/Metal Fab, and Carpentry.
Technology- Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.

FREE RETAIL TRAINING
Brentwood Bay - February 4, 11, 18 and 25 - 10:00 - 4:00 pm. This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail and many other work environments. You will be treated as an employee and you will be working alongside a busy team of staff members You will have training in: Working a cash register and counting cash - Customer service - Creating displays - Sorting inventory - Assisting with pricing - Opening & closing procedures. PARENTS AFTER GRAD MEETING - Meeting on Monday at 7pm in the Learning Commons.
GRAD & PARENT CONTACT FORMS: A purple Grad & Parent Contact form was included in the package of forms sent home in September. Only 40 were returned to the office. These forms are needed in order to contact Grads and their parents to inform of upcoming events and participation in grad activities! If you have not done so please submit a form ASAP.
GRAD TRANSITIONS
Grads get your Grad Transition done now before crunch time! Grad Transition Interview day is Tuesday, April 17th. Grad Transition information and forms are available from the Career Centre or website. Remember, GT is a graduation requirement.

S.C.A.T.S. VALENTINES DANCE - FEB 10th
The Society for the Community Arts Theatre is hosting a "Valentines Dance" on February 10th at the Saanich Fairgrounds to raise funds for a new theatre at Stelly's. Featuring the Commodores Big Band, Bayside Big Band and the Stelly's Jazz Band. Tickets are available at the main office. $20 each.
