DUAL CREDIT PSYCHOLOGY COURSE: Are you interested in getting transferable college credits next year? If yes Psychology 12 is offered as a dual credit course next year with Psychology 130. If this interests you please come to a brief meeting at lunch on Wednesday, May 16th in the PE classroom (room 082) or see Ms Koenig!
GRAD 2019: Grad exec 2019 has been working to get as many 2019 graduates invited to the facebook page as possible. We are hoping to have the first vote on our 2019 graduating colour up by the end of this week. If someone you know has not yet been invited please contact us with their name and Facebook handle. CAREER CENTRE
TEAC 105 COURSE - Explorations in Technology
Registration now open for the Fall TEAC session, the program runs Fridays, 3-6 pm - September through December. This dual-credit course provides current high school students with an introduction to careers in Computer Science, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. CAMOSUN COLLEGE & SAANICH SCHOOL DISTRICT PARTNERSHIP TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Interested in getting a diploma at Camosun for a Legal Office Assistant , Medical Office Assistant or Office Administration in September and want to have the school district pay for it? See Mr. Rhodes in the career centre ASAP. Applications are due on Monday for this awesome opportunity!
Employment Advisor Visit – Thursday, May 24th
Save the date for a visit from Employment Advisor, Lana Millot, on Thursday, May 24th, at lunch in the Career Centre. Learn about how to get started with getting a job or how to get training for the job you want. Also, she will have information on how to get funding for Forklift Training, Traffic Control Ticket, Serving It Right, First Aid and more.
TRAINING & EDUCATION:
CAMP IGNITE Youth Firefighter Mentorship Program for Grade 11 & 12 Girls - August 9th to August 12th, 2018. The camp is open to girls in grades 11-12 (ages 16-18), and gives them an introduction to the world of firefighting. Each girl will learn about fitness, nutrition, health and teamwork. It’s easy, and there’s no cost to participate! The camp will supply you with firefighter gear, accommodations, meals, activity fees and transportation during the camp. All you have to do is show up with a great attitude and a sense of adventure! FOODSAFE Level 1 - Monday, June 9th, 2018 8:30am – 4:30pm SHOAL Centre Cost is $50.00. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. If you can’t resolve the issues by May 15th, you MUST complete and submit a Grad Appeal Form and book an appointment with Ms. Hansen by May 15th. Grad Appeal Forms are available from the main office.
