GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Gym is open today at lunch for any basketball players interested in hoop shooting practice.

BOY’S BASKETBALL: Any boys interested in playing basketball this year? There is an open gym tonight and Thursday in the Big Gym at 7 pm. 

PIZZA DAY - Wednesday, Oct 17th -(Cafeteria Closed) Pizza Sale at Lunch $2.50 a slice,  Bake Sale at break & lunch....Bring your Loonies and toonies.

New Bus Passes: If you have been waiting for the new batch of bus passes to arrive, they are here!! Come pick them up in the office

Stelly's Performing Arts presents: The October Coffee Concert! Join us at 6:30PM (doors at 6:00) on Wednesday in the MPR for an evening of outstanding performances. Entrance is by donation. Hope to see you there!

On Tuesday evening, October 16, Stelly's will be co-hosting an All-Candidates event for our municipality.  Parents, students, and staff are invited to join the community in our MPR to meet the candidates for councillors.  Doors open at 6:30 and the questions will begin at 7:00.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.  Please attend to learn more about our hopeful community leaders.

HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday! Check it out!

Job Opportunities
On-call weekend server is needed at SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $16.58/ hour. Come work in the dining room where residents and customers enjoy meals together. The Food Service Worker performs a variety of food service duties, and may assist Cooks in food preparation. Must be minimum 16 years of age, have FOODSAFE certification and First Aid.

Canadian Tire @ Broadmead is getting ready to gear up for the Xmas season and is looking to hire for 6-8 cashier positions!  Part-time employees are expected to be available at least one weekend day and either one of Thursday or Friday nights, with more shifts available if desired.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

Food Safe Level 1  - Friday, October 19th, 2018 - (Pro-D Day)- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm - at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney - 10030 Resthaven Drive - Cost is $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working or wishing to work in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.

Alert First Aid with CPR "C" & AED - Saturday, October 20th, 2018 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. Cost is $50.

GRAD 2019

GRAD PHOTO BOOKINGS:  Grad Photo bookings are now open online! Grad Photos start on October 29th. You can book your appointment NOW by going onto the Lifetouch website. All grade 12 students need to sign up for an appointment as we encourage everyone to have a picture taken so that you are included in the yearbook.

GRAD POINSETTIA FUNDRAISER - Grad Poinsettia fundraiser order forms are now available on the Grad Board in the main foyer! Forms are due back Wednesday, October 30th.

INTERNATIONAL

WHISTLER  SKI TRIP: International Students can now sign-up fortheir Whistler Ski Trip happening on December 5th, 6th 7th. Cost: $550.00. Package includes: Ferry and Bus Transportation, 2 nights accommodation, 2 day lift tickets and lessons. Forms are available from Diane in the International Office. Sign-up ASAP if you want to go!
