GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Interested in writing a University of Waterloo Math Contest this year?  First contests begin in November.  To register, please attend an important meeting in Mrs Hilton's room at break today.

A representative from UVIC will be here Thursday at lunch in the Career Centre to answer any and all questions you may have about admissions, programs and any thing else!

Are you a Crafter or baker? Sidney Elementary is holding their 3rd Annual Holiday Fair on Saturday, November 17th. Grab a friend and rent a table and sell your crafts or baked goods? Table rentals are only $20. See the office for more details!

HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm! Check it out!

CLUBS

GSA is meeting at lunch today in room 106.

Stelly's Outdoors Club meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in Rm. 13 (Mr.Heywood's) to plan next month's activities. Please come if you'd like to give any input on what we'll be doing and when in November!

ATHLETICS

SR GIRLS BASKETBALL: All Sr Girls (grade 11 or 12) interested in playing Basketball this year are invited to an Open Gym on Thursday at 5pm.

CAREER CENTRE

WORK EXPERIENCE : There are a large number of students who are registered for Work Experience and have not started the process. Paper work was handed out in the last two weeks, so let’s get it in.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

CAMOSUN INNOVATES DESIGN CHALLENGE - Wednesday, November 7th. The South Island Partnership and Camosun Innovates are excited to have students (grade 9-12) up to the college this fall for a day of hands-on exploration. You will explore the Camosun Innovates space, do a hands-on design challenge, tour the Interurban campus, learn about dual credit, and become more familiar with the many courses and programs Camosun College has to offer.  

Art Colleges Fair – Nov. 28
Students interested in Art and Design: mark your calendars for the Art Colleges Fair on Wednesday, November 28th at St. Michael's University School, from 6:00-7:30 pm! This art fair is a great opportunity for students to learn about a number of art and design programs in the U.S. and Canada. Visit the Career Centre for a list of the art schools that will be participating.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES

Peace At Home Pet Care (mobile cat grooming & in home pet care services) is seeking responsible, reliable individual to assist with in home pet care visit.  Excellent opportunity if you’re passionate about animals and looking for experience working in pet care services. Wage $15 (Approx 30 min visit. For a complete list of responsibilities, requirements and details see the Career Centre Info Board.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Island Health and Saanich Peninsula Hospital have volunteer opportunities;  this is a great chance for students considering a career in health care. Come to the Career Centre to find out more!

GRAD 2019

AFTER GRAD 2019 Meeting - Our First Dry After Grad meeting is TONIGHT @ 7:00pm in the Learning Commons.  We invite all parents to join us to learn about the event, discuss ideas and find out ways that you can help out. 

GRAD POINSETTIA Order forms are due tomorrow ... remember that all Grads are required to sell a minimum of 3 plants.
