GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

GRADE 9 to 12 AND BEYOND EVENT is happening tomorrow evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Discover the diverse academic and unique opportunities available here at Stelly's! Presentations on High school programs, Post Secondary options, Grade level courses, Trades and Career Options, Travel Options and much more! If you missed some of the other post secondary information sessions, this evening will be a great opportunity for you to talk to representatives from UVIC & Camosun.

 HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm! Check it out!

Could all basketball players please return their uniforms to Mr. Braun in the PE office.

CAREER CENTRE

CAMOSUN INFO NIGHT 2019 - Thursday, February 28, 5:30 – 8pm - Lansdowne campus

Come out to Camosun’s Lansdowne campus for Info Night 2019! This is your chance to see what Camosun has to offer you. Talk to instructors and program experts, from Interurban and Lansdowne campuses, about the subjects you’re interested in and get the answers you need to make the decision that’s right for you. There will be campus tours throughout the evening and snacks will be available.  Bring your friend! Bring your mom! Bring your kids! Class Afloat 2019-2020 - This programme offers rigorous and internationally acclaimed academic programmes for grade 11, 12, University and GAP year students. Class Afloat offers both study and travel opportunities, onboard their majestic tall ship, and have just released their2019-2020 Voyage details. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers needed for a Spring Fair Fundraiser @ Heritage Acres - Saturday May 18th 8:30-2:30 - Volunteers are needed for games, bouncy castles, inflatable obstacle course, inflatable horse race game, face painting, cotton candy machine and concession. There is also an opportunity to dress up as a PRINCESS or SUPERHERO character for 4 hour shifts?  Great opportunity for your credits for Work Experience or Grad Transition This event is put on by the Brentwood Elementary School PAC.  Contact Pam at paclunch@brentwoodpac.ca

YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national program offering opportunities for youth to improve their second official language skills, explore another part of Canada, and gain valuable work experience through a work placement while on the exchange. The program runs for 6 weeks (early July to mid August), you must be 16 or 17 years of age during the summer program. Butchart Gardens - NEW DATE - Wednesday February, 27th, 2019, 6-8 pm

Employment Opportunities AND Job Fair : Seasonal Employment Food-Visitor-Custodial Services - Seed & Gift Store - Gardening.  Apply online at https://www.butchartgardens.com/employment/Seasonal positions provide 25-40 hours of work per week, $15.45 hour.  Shifts will vary and weekend and evening work is required.

GRAD 2019

ATTN: Grade 12’s - Your GT paperwork deadline is less than 12 days away!!  45 out of 191 students have handed in their GT paperwork. Deadline March 8, 2019.  There are 6 requirements for GT: DPA-30 hours-Budget-Questions-Resume-Cover Letter. All required paperwork is available in the Career Centre, online thru the Stelly’s website or the Saanich Career Education website.

Grad’s don’t forget to grab a Thrifty Smile card or a Fairway card from the office to raise funds for the Dry Grad.  Get your parents to load the card when they shop, and the stores will make a donation to Dry Grad 2019.
