GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Green Course Request Verification forms for next year were handed out with Report cards on Friday. If you need to make a change for any courses next year, please hand into the Career Centre by Friday with a parent signature.

REPORT CARDS are available at the office if you did not get yours on Friday in TA.

Mrs Wallace has 3 field trips coming up that you may be interested in joining.  On Thursday, May 2 there is a History Fair at UVic.  On Friday, May 3 there is a WE Day Walk for Water at the Legislature.  On Wednesday, May 8th there is a Youth Leadership Seminar event at Oak Bay High.  Please see her in room 108 for more info and permission forms. 

ATHLETICS

ALL FEMALE BASKETBALL PLAYERS: Stinger season training for all girls in Grade 9-12 is after school on Mondays from 3:30-5pm Anyone and everyone is welcome to come and develop their skills. For more info, see Ms Montgomery

CAREER CENTRE

UVic Medical Program Info - May 7
Are you interested in becoming a doctor? Do you know you can earn your MD at UVic? The Island Medical Program delivers the UBC MD Undergraduate Program in partnership with the University of Victoria and Island Health. Learn more about the MD admissions process at the upcoming high school information session on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from 6:30-8:00 pm, in the UVic Medical Sciences Building, room 105.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

Camp Ignite – Summer 2019
Camp Ignite is a Youth Fire Fighter Mentorship Program for grade 11 & 12 girls, ages 16-18.  It is a   4-day camp that educates and inspires young women about careers in firefighting. This camp offers girls an introduction to the world of firefighting as well as learning about fitness, nutrition, health and teamwork. This year's camp will run from August 8-11, 2019.  Saanich Fire is looking to sponsor one grade 11 or 12 girl to attend.
Application deadline is June 1. Please visit the Career Centre for application packages.

Saanich Summer Internship Program - Saanich Parks & Recreation: Summer Internship Program is designed to support youth ages 16-18 years to gain valuable work experience. Mentored part-time and full-time placements are available in summer camps and community settings throughout Saanich. Interns receive up to $500 for completing the program!  Application deadline is May 15.  Apply by sending an e-mail to Alana.Goddard@saanich.ca  explaining why you want to be a summer intern or phone 250-475-7624 for more information.

GRAD 2019

Grad Musical Performance Applications to perform at the Grad Ceremony are now due. Meeting on Tuesday at lunch in the Band room for those who have applied.

Grads ... Valedictorian Speeches will be held on Friday in Block 3 in the MPR. You must be present to cast your vote for your Class Valedictorian!

Grad Packages are past due......Please drop off to Ms. Batham, in the Main office if you haven’t done so yet!
