GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of BLTC Wrap, Chicken Brie Roasted Garlic Arugula Flatbread, Artisan Pizza Slice, Chicken Caesar Salad, Meat Tortellini in a rose sauce, Turkey & Veggie Fried Rice or Asian Meatballs on Chow Mein Noodles.   Come on down and check it out!

PIZZA SALE – Thursday …Today was the last day of Cafeteria service for Quarter 2. The cafeteria will be closed tomorrow but …. we will be having a PIZZA SALE from the cafeteria window ... Only $2.50 a slice!

QUARTER 3 TIMETABLES: This morning we handed out Student Quarter 3 timetables in Block One. Please make sure you pick it up, because there may have been some changes in room numbers or teachers since they were printed at the start of the year. If you don’t have a block 1 class, your timetable can be picked up in the main office.   All course change requests should be submitted by Feb 3, it will be very difficult to change courses after beginning classes with a new cohort.  Please visit the Career Center to pick up a course change form.

TEXT BOOK RETURN: Please return your textbooks to the bin located outside of the Learning Commons!

CAREER CENTRE

DISTRICT CAREER PROGRAMS & DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES - VIRTUAL INFORMATION NIGHT – THURSDAY January 28 @ 7pm.  Parents are invited to join a virtual meeting to learn more about opportunities available to students in grades 10-12 in the Saanich School District. You will find out about:  Skills Training Apprenticeship Carpentry (STAC), Work Experience 12A & 12B (WEx), Trade Awareness Skills & Knowledge (TASK), Trade Exploration (TEX), Marine Service Technician, VIU Hairstylist Program, Dual Credit Courses offered through Camosun College, Technical Trades Training and Apprenticeships.  For more information and to register for this event, please see this attached link:  Link for Careers Night   Questions can be directed to Heidi Hackman in Stelly's Career Centre.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

ELK LAKE FARM - is looking for Farm/garden help!  If you are interested in being outside and getting exercise, you may be a good candidate for this local job. Right now, the employer is looking for someone to help gather branches and do other odd jobs in the garden, starting at $15.00 hour.   Eventually, the job could increase to work in the vegetable garden and other areas of the property. Scheduling is flexible, starting at as little as 3 hours per week, working up to more hours and potential summer work.  The farm is located on Old West Saanich Rd. on the other side of Elk Lake. Contact: Cindy (250) 479-7773

PARENT FUNDRAISER for STELLY'S STUDENT'S DRY AFTER GRAD 2021 is on now! Bring your broken bracelets, chains, earrings, or any other gold items to the school office up until March 12th.  Clean out those jewelry boxes and drawers Help support the 2021 Dry After Grad!
