Reminder to return School Forms to the office ASAP!.
GOOGLE GSUITE ACCOUNT FORMS: There are over 250 students that have not filled out the YELLOW GSuite for Education account forms! Those students that have not filled out these forms will have their google accounts deactivated on Friday. Forms available in the learning commons.
Are you interested in visiting London, Paris, Florence and Rome on Spring Break? If so, please come to a meeing in room 144 at lunch on Thursday or see Ms Liberatore anytime. Those who have already signed up, please come to this important meeting as well.
SOCIAL LEADERSHIP: Reminder that the first class for Social Leadership is today at lunch in room 108. See Mrs Wallace if you are not able to attend.
Photo Day: School photos will be taken next Monday September 17th. Every student in every grade needs a photo taken for school I.D. purposes, even if you do not plan to purchase photos.

SAILING CLUB: Sailing is starting soon for this Fall!! The season will be September 22 - October 27, with a 2 hour session during the week and 3 hours on Saturdays (specific days/times tbd soon). HAIRSTYLIST APPRENTICESHIP - starting February 2019
Do you LOVE hair? Have you ever considered a career as a Hairstylist?? Are you a social person that likes people, enjoys being a team player that is motivated with a positive attitude? Hairstylist apprenticeships provide you with the training and qualifications you need to work in the aesthetics and beauty industry. Available to grade 10-11-12 students. Interested? FIRE RESCUE YOUTH CAMP - Are you a candidate for the Gulf Island Fire/Rescue Youth Camp? The next camp runs March 18-23, 2019. Applications are due November 16, 2018. Wonder what it’s like to run into a building that everyone else is running out of? Think you could dangle off a rope 50 feet in the air? Want to make a difference? Wish you could help? Applicants must be 15 to 18 years of age. Admission fee will be $200 per student. Upon completion, students qualify for 100 Work Experience hours, equivalent to 4 school credits. Food Safe Level 1 - Friday, October 19th, 2018 - (Pro-D Day)- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm - at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney - 10030 Resthaven Drive - Cost is $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working or wishing to work in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.
Alert First Aid with CPR "C" & AED - Saturday, October 20th, 2018 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. Cost is $50.
Retail Training - *FREE* - This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail & many other work environments. You will be treated as an employee & you will be working alongside a busy team of staff members. This is a full day commitment on Sundays for 4 weeks each month. Train in working a cash register & counting cash, customer service, creating displays and more! Brentwood Bay and Sidney locations.

Central Saanich Terry Fox Community Run - Volunteers Needed
Sunday, September 16- 8:30 am to 11:00 am
Students will be in pairs and would be “extra marshals” helping to mark the route and encouraging runners/walkers/cyclists. “Pumpkin Express Event” Volunteer opportunity October 19, 20, 21 from 4:30-8:30pm. Interested in helping with the preparation for this event (building scarecrows, decorating the forest areas the train runs through, etc.) Scarecrow building work party Saturday, Sept. 22 10am to 3pm. Volunteering during the event with supervision of craft tables, train track crossings, pumpkin carvings, haunted story walks, scavenger hunt. in the graveyard and face painting. Following the BBQ at 6pm we will meet in the Gym with a “Welcome” address from our principal followed by a rotation of your students class schedule starting at 6:30pm.
