Joy Paquin Memorial Scholarship

TENURE: To support outstanding School District #63 (Saanich) students entering full time post-secondary education whose goal is to become K-12 teachers.
CRITERIA:

Graduating full-time student who demonstrates the following:
  1. Excellence in academics
  2. Pursuing a career as a teacher
  3. Acceptance at a post secondary institution in the same year as graduation
  4. Involvement in extra-curricular and/or community activities
  5. Participation in work experience and/or volunteerism in a ‘teaching’ situation, i.e. teacher assistant, peer tutor/helper, elementary school volunteer, lab/shop assistant, recreational instructor, sports coach, youth leader, etc.
DEADLINE: Annually on May 15th
PROCEDURE: Students need to complete the district scholarship application form and include a scholarship resume or curriculum vitae. This vitae must include a transcript of Grade 11 and 12 marks (predicted or final for all courses), a statement of future plans and goals and proof of post-secondary school registration or acceptance. Application forms should be completed and returned to each school’s Scholarship Coordinator. District application form can be downloaded from Stelly's website.
SELECTION: Selection will be made by the School District #63 Administration and members of the Paquin family.
