Lauren Mattear Legacy Fund

Lauren Mattear was an energetic, dynamic Stelly’s student who had unrestrained passion for issues facing the citizens of our global community. Her enthusiasm was unmistakable and her goal was to attend university abroad in order to further he knowledge of the world, it’s people and issues. The Lauren Mattear Legacy Fund was developed to support students, like Lauren, in pursuing post-secondary studies focused on social justice at an accredited post-secondary institution abroad.

TENURE:

To encourage a passion for social justice and international education through an annual scholarship award.

CRITERIA: Awarded to a graduating student from Stelly’s Secondary School who has demonstrated the following:
  1. Must be eligible for High School graduation in the current year
  2. Must have demonstrated an interest and active involvement in global issues and/or issues of social justice
  3. Must have confirmed enrolment in one of the following:
    • an accredited post-secondary institution abroad
    • a social sciences, sciences, humanities or liberal arts program at an accredited post secondary institution
DEADLINE: Annually on May 15th
PROCEDURE: Students need to complete the Stelly's application form and include a scholarship resume or curriculum vitae. This vitae must include a transcript of Grade 11 and 12 marks (predicted or final for all courses), a statement of future plans and goals, proof of post-secondary school registration/acceptance.
SELECTION: Selection will be made by the Mattear family in consultation with the Stelly’s Scholarship Committee.
